Episode 24 :: French American photographer Alain Briot
Peter Urban is in Phoenix Arizona talking to French American photographer and artist Alain Briot. Briot is a very successful entrepreneur, writer and artist who developed a unique approach to photography focusing on it as an artform rather than putting emphasis on the technological tools that make the pictures. This episode tells Briot’s story from his meager beginnings as a struggling artist in Paris to his current state as a successful photographer and businessman in the South-western US. Briot’s humor and wit are engaging making this SmibsTV episode one of our best ones yet. This episode is one of two we filmed while on location in Arizona at Briot’s gallery.

A very good and informative interview, keep up the good work. Would you be able to boost the audio a little bit for those of us who are born with hearing deficiencies? Just a minor suggestion is all, I do enjoy learning about other photographers styles and experiences.

[...] I’ve just come across two great interviews of two photographers I admire. One interview is with Michael Reichmann, creater of the wonder Luminous Landscape website, the other with Alain Briot (www.beautiful-landscape.com). Both inteviews are on Smibs TV. The interviews are about photography, art, business, the career of those two photographers and on how to live your dream. Both interviews are very interesting and inspiring. I highly recommend watching them. Here are the links to the interviews: Interview with Michael Reichmann Interview with Alain Briot [...]

Thanks a lot for this interview and for introducing me to Alain Briot’s work.
I had read his posts on Luminous Landscape in the past without realizing he was also the author of these famous and beautiful landscape photographs.
Since watching this video, I have been listening to Alain’s podcasts -some truly inspiring- and read whatever I could find from him.
His approach to photography, art and business really hits the mark.

I’m impressed, I need to say. Really hardly ever do I encounter a blog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Your thought is excellent; the problem is something that not enough individuals are talking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for one thing referring to this.
